Local Notes

Water Has To Go Somewhere

A drain that collects water but has nowhere to release it just moves the problem a few feet. The hard part of drainage isn't the trench — it's finding a workable discharge point and holding consistent fall the whole way there.

We plan the outlet first and dig second. That's why our drains still run years later instead of silting up and quietly giving up.

Common Questions

Drainage FAQs

How do I know if I need a French drain?

Standing water a day after rain, soggy patches that never dry out, water running toward the house, or soil and mulch washing out of beds. Any of those is worth a look.

Will it tear up my lawn?

There's a trench line while we work, and we backfill and repair sod over it before we leave. It settles in over a season until you can't tell where it ran.

Where does the water actually go?

To a discharge point that makes sense for your lot — a lower grade, a street or alley, or a dry well where that's the better option. We confirm what your city allows before we dig.

How long does a drain system last?

A long time, when it's built with filter fabric and washed gravel that keep silt out of the pipe. Systems that clog early are almost always missing one of those two things.
